Welcome to Culinary Arts

     {Cheese Grater}

     The Culinary Arts program at the Burlington County Institute of Technology Westampton Campus is a comprehensive four year program with the emphasis on preparing students to become tomorrow's chefs.

     The program will take the high school students through all of the tasks necessary to make them successful in the ever growing food service industry. The hospitality industry is the second highest employer in the world. Our students will never be at a loss for employment if they are willing to work hard and use all of their skills and talents.

     The Culinary Arts program will take our students into every phase of food preparation. They will learn everything from institutional cooking to baking and fine dining. They are able to put all of their knowledge to work as they prepare the student lunch, the faculty dinning room, luncheons, special functions, and our fine dinning restaurant, "The Panther Palate". They will be learning baking with our pastry chef, as well as retail in our Culinary Express which is sponsored by the Wawa Corporation.

     Our students will receive a certification in their senior year after completing this program and passing the NOCTI, which is a National Vocational Skills Test, with a written and proficiency aspect.

     Upon graduation, our students will be prepared to choose working in the industry, furthering their education by entering a two or four year program, or entering any branch of the military. We have articulation agreements with BCCC, ACCC, and Johnson and Wales University.
