| Teaching Philosophy: |
I believe the goal of education should be to help students understand their world and themselves, and to equip them with tools necessary to change both.
I believe the point of teaching social studies is to help students understand how and why historical events happened, how those events may or may not relate to our world today, and how students can enact change.
I believe the process of teaching social studies should encourage the development of skills every student needs, no matter what career he or she chooses or to what segments of society he or she belongs.
