My Teaching Philosophy:

 

I want my class to be practical and meaningful for my students.  There is an extreme emphasis on practical historical knowledge, from the current events we do weekly to the daily discussions and projects of the semester.  Essentially, everything is done with the purpose of imparting knowledge that can be used in everyday life.  Students coming out of my class are expected to be able to have adult conversations about politics, government, national and world happenings, and key issues in society today.  In my experiences, those things last much longer than your typical textbook based history education.
