The Academy of Performing Arts is comprised of four disciplines: dance, theatre, vocal music and instrumental music. The program provides students with a wide variety of academic options that include college preparatory, honors, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses while preparing students for post-secondary education and/or entry to careers in the performing arts. Students will be selected to the program based on their audition to a specific concentration as well as the four criteria set by the district.

Candidates who meet the above criteria will audition for one of the following performing arts concentrations:
Students at BCIT – Medford enjoy four-block time (80 minute) classes per day with math and English running on an A/B schedule. Students will be enrolled in at least one block of performing arts every day throughout their tenure. In many cases, students will spend half of the school day in their performing arts concentration.

In addition, we offer a full range of co-and extracurricular activities to enrich student life. These activities include National Honor Society, International Thespian Society, National Dance Honor Society, SKILLS USA, student council yearbook, FFA, HOSA, stage crew, Interact Club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and many others.
Students are also permitted to participate in programs at their sending district that are not offered at BCIT –
