• Emergency Health Sciences (EMT)

This course is designed to instruct a student to the level of Emergency Medical Technician-Basic who serves as a vital link in the chain of the healthcare team. It is recognized that the majority of prehospital emergency medical care will be provided by the EMT-Basic. This includes all skills necessary for the individual to provide emergency medical care at a basic life support level with an ambulance service or other specialized service.  EMTs respond to emergencies, accidents and trauma sites, and work in conjunction with firefighters, paramedics, police officers and other health care professionals.  As an EMT trainee, you’ll complete over 110 hours of classroom instruction and complete up to 110 hours of supervised clinical training. Successful graduates of this course who are 18 years old will qualify to take the State exam; those who pass the State’s written and practical may meet all licensing requirements to work as a certified EMT-B in the State of New Jersey.
