• Marketing

    Marketing introduces students to the exploration of creative, competitive, and dynamic activities that impact the lives of millions every day. Students will acquire competencies in the foundations of marketing (economics, business, and human resources) and its functions--selling, promotion, pricing, purchasing, marketing information management, product/service planning, distribution, financing, and risk management.  Students will become proficient in marketing products and services through a virtual business simulation in retailing and sports merchandising, and they will set up their business online through the internet.  Students are greatly involved in the operation of the BCIT School Store where they have opportunities to interact with customers, place orders online via QuickBooks, and create visual displays both in house and online. They will participate in DECA, a marketing and leadership service organization, and are strongly encouraged to accept positions in the private sector once basic competencies are mastered.
