Information Technology & Cybersecurity

  • Information Technology offers competencies in many areas of technology. Students proceed through a core of knowledge that includes computer terminology, history of computers, data processing, data entry applications, information processing skills, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, programming languages, logic, diagnostics/maintenance and repair, number systems, safety practices and standards, operating systems, environments, and utilities. Students build the skills and knowledge they will need to develop and maintain a variety of informational and e-commerce websites. Students are introduced to networking basics, accounting, and desktop publishing. As a student in this program, acquired communication, critical thinking, and technical skills required in the workplace are demonstrated by analyzing case studies. Hands-on projects apply the concepts and skills learned in real and simulated business situations.
