  • BCIT Emergency Preparedness Plan

    (updated May 23,2020)

    Dear BCIT Parents/Guardians:

This week, Governor Murphy announced the extended closure of schools in New Jersey through the end of this 2019-2020 school year, based on our school calendar. We have been engaged in remote learning under the COVID-19 virus environment since March and will continue with this remote learning through the end of this school year. Uppermost in our minds during these difficult times is the safety, security, and well-being of our students, staff and families.

The recent extension of the closure until the end of this school year brings up a number of questions for students and families as we understand that no one could have ever predicted the impact of such an event on our personal, professional, and family lives. The administration has been looking at what the end of the school year will look like in the likelihood that we would not return prior to the end of the school year; what would the restart of the new school year look like, and last, how could we take what we have learned about the delivery of education under COVID-19 to shape the new environment in schools.

The administration will be in contact with all of our families in the next few weeks regarding the finalization of this 2019-2020 school year and necessary steps to be taken. I once again want to thank you for your collaboration and cooperation in these extraordinary times.  I am confident that there is nothing we cannot do together.

We understand the impact that this closure has on our BCIT School Comminity, and we will do all that we can to work with our families. During this time, we will remain in close communication with you through: Email, Google Classroom, Remind, and phone.
