Individuals must hold a current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse with minimum BSN education and at least 3 years experience in medical surgical and/or other nursing specialties within the last 5 years. Excellent clinical skills are required. Applicants must also hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association. Teaching experience is a plus.
Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
CNA instructors must be approved and have completed updated training with the New Jersey Department of Health and Human Services.
Homemaker Home health Aide (HHHA)
RNs already approved by the New Jersey Board of Nursing to teach HHHA courses should indicate this on their application.
Practical Nursing (PN)
RNs should indicate their nursing specialty (if applicable) on the application.
Other Health Occupation positions will also be available in 2015 as programs expand. There is a need for part time instructors during the day and evening and substitute instructors for the following positions:
Basic Life Support and First Aid (American Heart Association)
Health Information technology
Individuals must hold a current New Jersey state license or certification in the respective field with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years recent experience. Excellent clinical skills are required. Applicants may be required to show current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association. Teaching experience is a plus.
Additional Health Occupation Positions are also available due to expansion and need for substitute instructors. Evidence of appropriate certifications and a minimum of four years of experience in the field are required for the following positions.
Skill Building Occupations
Individuals must hold a current New Jersey state license or certification in the respective field with a minimum of 4 years recent experience. Excellent trade skills are required. Teaching experience is a plus. Professional development will be provided to new instructors. Many of the programs provide apprenticeship opportunities.
