Updated Quarantine Protocols
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we migrate through the many twists and turns created by the ongoing Covid-19 environment, we thought it would be helpful to share an updated quarantine chart. As of 9/23/2021, the attached chart has been updated. Please note that we are now in the Orange COVID-19 Health Matrix which necessitates a longer quarantine period. At the Board of Education meeting last Thursday night, I noted that our District has selected Option 2 of the NJDOE/NJDOH COVID-19 testing protocol which for us means that we will be providing COVID-19 testing onsite for students and for staff. We are awaiting the details and when we would be able to roll out the testing on campuses.
Please be mindful that we are seeing a rise in positive cases especially for the non-vaccinated. It is important to follow the testing requirements, self-monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms and reporting protocols specified by the district to safeguard students and staff alike. For those who are deemed to be a close contact or have to quarantine, students and families will be contacted by the nurses and/or the district contract tracer. If not contacted, there is no need to take any action other than to be vigilant and to report to the administration if there are Covid-19 symptoms of your child and to keep your child home if sick or exhibiting the symptoms.
We also received requests to limit the communication home regarding the daily notification of positive cases and need to quarantine and if there could be a central location to which parents, guardians or staff can go to see the weekly updates if interested. To this end, we are working on a website-based dashboard which will be updated weekly with our Covid-19 case numbers. A separate communication will be sent out to parents and guardians when that dashboard matrix is ready and live on the district website.
