A Season of Gratitude, Growth, and “Mission Possible” at BCIT Adult Education

As the CTE Adult Education Principal, I wanted to take a moment—just after the warmth of the Thanksgiving holiday and as the official holiday season begins to sparkle around us—to share a reflection with our dedicated students and staff.

A Moment to Appreciate the Journey

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of learning, growth, and commitment across our CTE programs. This time of year, with its emphasis on gratitude and community, gives us the perfect opportunity to pause and recognize the meaningful milestones that shape our progress.

And in the spirit of Dr. Holly’s district message, it’s important to remember: our mission is not only important—it’s possible.
Every day, across every program, our students and staff prove this.

It’s easy to focus solely on the final destination—earning a diploma, completing a certification, or stepping into a new career. But the mastery of a new technical skill, the perfect weld, the successful completion of a challenging coding module, or the confident handling of a patient simulation—these are the small, powerful victories that remind us we are living our “Mission Possible” in real time.

To our students:
Your perseverance and dedication, especially when the work is tough, show that you are fully capable of achieving the future you seek. Every skill mastered, every task completed, every moment you choose to keep going proves that your mission—not just surviving, but succeeding—is absolutely possible.

To our instructors and staff:
Your guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support fuel this mission every single day. Thank you for believing in our learners, recognizing their breakthroughs, and helping them turn challenges into momentum. You embody the very heart of “Mission Possible.”

As we continue into this holiday season, let’s keep celebrating not just what we achieve, but how we rise to each challenge—together—with purpose, resilience, and confidence that our mission will be accomplished.
