Attention Poetry Lovers! The time has come to begin planning for the annual Poetry Out Loud competition! Poetry Out Loud is a national recitation contest that celebrates the power of the spoken word and a mastery of public speaking skills as students take poetry from the page to the stage! Poetry Out Loud has inspired hundreds of thousands of high school students to discover and appreciate both classic and contemporary poetry. If you are interested in competing in the BCIT school-wide Poetry Out Loud competition with the potential to move on to the Regional competition, please see Mrs. Pappler in room D206 for more information. In order to participate, you must sign up with Mrs. Pappler by December 10th.

Attention all students:  Student Council is hosting its annual Talent Show on December 11th. Auditions will be held after school on December 1st and 2nd. We encourage all students who performed last year to come back and welcome new students that want to show off their talent! Please see Mr. Ward in D209 or Mrs. Hughes in D220 to sign up for a time to audition.

It's time to recognize all the talent at BCIT Medford! VOTAG nominations are officially open. Check the VOTAG page under the student life tab on the Medford Campus website for more information and to nominate a talented student. We can't wait to see the projects on display at the showcase in May. As a reminder, only students in grades 10 through 12 are eligible. See Mrs. Murro or Mrs. Towey with questions.

Student Council is holding their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive from November 10th to the 24th. Please bring in non-perishable food items to the cafeteria in the bin marked with your class year. The class that brings in the most food will earn points towards spirit week. We want you to know that this food will be made into Thanksgiving baskets for fellow BCIT families in need.
