Graduate Information & Ceremony Details

Cap & Gown Information- Graduate cap, rental gown, and tassel packages must be purchased through Herff Jones.

  • Graduation Caps can be personalized and must be school appropriate.

  • Customized or personalized gowns, stoles, or cords are not permitted.

  • Gowns must be returned after the ceremony to receive their diploma. 

  • Deadline to order: Friday, April 3rd.

Diploma Information-  We must confirm that each graduate’s full legal name is listed accurately in their Genesis Portal. Please note, a diploma is an official legal document and must reflect the student’s legal name as it appears on their birth certificate. Please log into the Genesis Parent Portal and carefully review their profile for correct spelling, middle name inclusion, and any applicable suffix (Jr., III, etc.).

  • Select your diploma name format by completing this form-  Diploma Confirmation Form 

    (Failure to complete this form will default to the name printed as First name Middle Initial Last name format).

  • Deadline to complete: Friday,  April 3rd. 

GRADUATE INFORMATION

Graduates that do not wish to participate in the ceremony must notify their counselor as soon as possible.

Senior Obligations- All outstanding obligations must be satisfied prior to practice in order to be eligible to participate. We will be verifying and notifying those seniors with unsatisfied balances.

How to pay student obligations or a lunch balance (no cash/checks accepted).

Graduation Practice- Practice will be held June 23rd during school hours and is mandatory for all seniors participating in the ceremony.

  • Important Note: It is a half day session, graduates are expected to be present for the entire duration of the school day. This includes all early release and school-to-work students

Ceremony Dress Code- For the ceremony, graduates will be seated on risers. We strongly recommend wearing shoes that will make walking across the stage area and up/down stairs safe and easy (high heels are not recommended).

Permitted-

  • Dress shirts, polo shirts, tie/bowtie (optional), dress pants, dress shoes

  • Dresses, skirts, dress pants, dress shoes

NOT Permitted-

  • Denim, jeans, active/lounge wear, sweatpants/jogging pants of any kind

  • Hooded shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, graphic t-shirts or t-shirts of any kind

  • Crocs, sneakers, slippers, slides, work boot style footwear, flip flops of any kind

CEREMONY DETAILS

  • Date: June 23, 2026

  • Time: 5:00 PM

  • Location: Campus Auditorium

Ticket Information-

  • Each graduate will receive their tickets before dismissal on June 23rd.

  • Every guest requires a ticket, this includes infants and children—no exceptions will be made.

  • Graduates do not require a ticket.

How to request ONE additional ticket (Lottery System) and Handicap seating-

  • Families may request 1 additional ticket via email- westgraduation@burlcoschools.org 

  • Deadline to request: Friday, May 8th.

  • Notification of results: Friday, May 22nd.

Ceremony Live Stream- Our commencement ceremony will be available to watch through our live stream link. This ensures all family and friends can still see graduates cross the stage on this big night! The link will be posted to our homepage a few days prior to our ceremony.

Guest Expectations- To ensure that our ceremony is the most memorable experience for our graduates, we ask that you note and adhere to the following:

  • NO Food or drink is permitted in the auditorium ceremony area.

  • NO balloons, cut-outs, poster or signage, noise makers, light-up props, etc. are permitted in the ceremony area.

  • Please do not leave your seats or crowd aisles to take photos during the ceremony.
