Carpentry
Students gain practical hands-on experience by building an 8' x 8' house throughout the program.
Carpentry I focuses on foundational skills and basic framing techniques.
Carpentry II builds upon foundational skills with more advanced techniques, including roof framing, finishing work, and interior trim.
Comprehensive curriculum covers a wide range of essential carpentry skills:
Fundamentals: Hand and power tools, safety, building materials, carpentry math.
Framing: Footings, foundations, floor framing, wall framing, roof framing (gable and hip roofs).
Finish Work: Windows, doors, siding, roofing, drywall, interior trim, flooring.
Building Codes: Interpretation and application of relevant building codes.
