Our 1,000-hour curriculum focuses on achieving all the core competencies required for a successful career and New Jersey licensure, combining practical skills with essential industry knowledge:
Core Beauty Skills: Gain hands-on expertise in all aspects of cosmetology:
Hair: Advanced techniques in cutting, coloring, styling, shampooing, and chemical treatments like perms.
Skin Care: Learn facials, shaving, and various skin care treatments.
Nail Care: Master manicures, pedicures, and modern nail enhancements.
Safety and Professionalism: Build the foundation for an ethical and compliant career:
Sanitation & Hygiene: Rigorous training in proper sanitation and sterilization to maintain a safe, clean work environment.
Business & Ethics: Develop professional conduct, master client communication, and learn the basics of shop/salon management, inventory, and customer service.
State Regulations: Thorough understanding of all New Jersey State laws and regulations required for practice.

Additional Information:
Birth Certificate and High School diploma or GED required for state licensing examination. Students are responsible for purchasing their own uniform: black BCIT Adult Education shirt and black scrub pants.
Course cost DOES NOT include supply kits (approx. $700) and textbooks (approx. $550).

Monday - Thursday 4:30pm to 9:30pm
