Google for the Home User
This course is designed to introduce members of the public to the overview on the functions of the core applications in the Google Suite which include Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Chrome, along with supporting and accompanying applications most commonly used for communicating in the 21st century. Students will experience hands-on walk-through learning about the basics of the essential applications for communicating, planning, and developing content that can be shared with other Google users, and across other platforms as well. No prior knowledge or experience using Google applications is required, however users will have to create a Google account in order to participate in the class. Lessons are structured around various topics each week, and include a demonstration, followed by instructor support to students to achieve mastery.
By the end of the course, you should understand each application’s purpose and how it can be applied to a variety of situations at home and in the workplace.

Growing your Brand and Profile Using Social Media Marketing
This 6 week hybrid course (1 night a week 2 hours) lays the foundation of social media marketing. You’ll learn what social media marketing entails, including the history and the different social media channels that exist. You’ll learn how to select a social media channel that fits your needs, set goals and success metrics, and determine who your target audience is.This course equips you with critical content creation and management skills. You’ll learn how to create effective social media posts and how to create a strong brand to help you build a social media presence. You’ll also learn how to establish an ongoing process to manage your content. This includes setting up a content calendar, managing and moderating your posts, analyzing data for insights and iteration, and how to increase post effectiveness. Whatever level of knowledge you start with, this course will help you build a solid foundation for social media marketing and gain applicable skills that will allow you to make your social media marketing efforts more successful and noticeable. This course will be held in-person and there may be an option for a few remote classes depending on the instructor and student availability.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:

** Learners don't need marketing experience, but should have basic internet navigation skills and be eager to participate and connect in social media. Learners must have a Facebook account and an Instagram account would be helpful.

Introduction to Social Media Basics
This 6 week in-person course (1 night a week 2 hours) lays the foundation of social media basics as we navigate interactions in the age of digital communication. You’ll learn what social media channels exist (including social networks, professional networks, and photo/video sharing websites/apps), understand how to create and manage a social media account, adjust your account settings, and how to use social media to connect personally and professionally. This course will be held in-person and there may be an option for a few remote classes depending on the instructor and student availability.
By the end of this course, you will:
Understand the landscape of the various types of social media - Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Know the basics of managing a social media profile.
Understand how to adjust account settings for security and privacy.
Have the ability to effectively use social media for a job search.
