This two-semester program provides a comprehensive foundation in plumbing principles, practices, and skills.
Key Curriculum Topics:
Plumbing History & Principles: Understanding the evolution of plumbing systems and fundamental plumbing concepts.
Codes & Regulations: Learning and applying relevant plumbing codes and regulations.
Tools & Equipment: Proper use and maintenance of plumbing tools and equipment.
Safety: Safety practices and procedures in the plumbing trade.
Water Supply Systems: Understanding water sources, water treatment, and water distribution systems.
Piping Materials: Properties and applications of various piping materials (copper, PVC, PEX, etc.).
Installation Methods: Proper installation techniques for pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing components.
Valves & Fixtures: Understanding the function and installation of various valves and plumbing fixtures.
Soldering: Developing soldering skills for joining copper pipes.
Plumbing Math: Applying mathematical concepts to plumbing calculations (e.g., pipe sizing, pressure calculations).
Commercial Plumbing: Introduction to commercial plumbing systems and their unique requirements.
